  • 1.  WebRTC - Connections via Proxy

    Hi

Are we able to make WebRTC traffics to go via proxy only and not firewall?

We have run a wireshark capture and noticed that the STUN traffics are going via the firewall instead of the web proxy. It's probably because it's UDP and not http traffics? Our firewalls will not allow traffics to AWS hence we need the application to use only proxy for communication.

Is there a way to achieve this?

With the new release, you can now do this.  The old one required STUN lookup which broke with proxy use.  The new method is more friendly with proxies, but you need to ensure they are not blocking or locking down ports.

is there a specific configuration to set up? I have a feedback that informs me that there are still requests without going through the proxy.

I am also looking for the above.

Is there any reference document or link which explains how WebRTC in BYOC Cloud scenario works with Proxy assuming all required ports are open in Proxy including UDP ?

Also is there any document or reference which says which URLs are needed to be allowed in the proxy ?

    Hello,

Since your last post, have you been able to test it, and if so does it work?

    Thank you

    Hi @Ponin Sor @Robert Wakefield-Carl

Our InfoSec team also wants traffic to go over proxy, do you have any documentation on how to implement this setup?

    Hello all,
I'm also looking for information on how to use WebRTC behind a proxy server.
Is there some advice to follow? And, especially, does it work?

Thanks in advance for any suggestion!

Genesis does a great job at far end NAT transversal but sip proxies and sip ALG's do have some issues processing headers and IP information correctly. You might need to test and see how it goes but in my testing most of the time it was okay.
