    Dear Pureconnect Community,

    Good Day,

I would like to seek for your opinion if using Interaction Migrator is okay to migrate all the configuration of the CIC.?

Right now im trying it to a test server and facing this issue. "The Home Site for this server has not been changed" Any idea what is the issue on this?

Also is there any other way or tools that we can use to do the migration for CIC?

    Hi,

Do not select following items with Migrator :

    o Certificates
    o Config Certificates
    o Custom Handlers
    o Dialer Configuration
    o Handlers
    o IP\Handlers
    o License File
    o Media Server
    o Port-To-Certificate Mappings
    o Server Certificate Files
    o Server Certificates

I never use Migrator. Instead, I'm using dsEditU.
With dsEditU app, you can export needed items (users, workgroups, roles, stations, ip phones etc.) as .xml file.
Then you can edit them and replace parts (like server name). Then you can import those .xml files into new server.

    Dear Guchan,

    Good Day.

Thank you very much for this information. Now i can take note of these items and dont select on my next testing. We are still in a process of testing this application to migrate.

    Again thank you very much

    regards

    Hey @Guchan Erzorlu!

Sorry to resurrect this old thread, but could you elaborate on the Handlers not being migrated? I have an issue where I am migrating a server where there isn't an accurate record of what Handlers have been customized. (Sure, they should be in the Custom directory, but that's no guarantee!)

I was hoping that Migrator would sort this out for me, but you are suggesting not. What is the issue with using it for this?

    TIA

    Hi Paul,

Migrator can sort this out but I just don't trust it :).

I would check d:\i3\ic\server\handlers folder and sort them by date.
You can find the modified once easier.

If there is no system handler modified, it should be simple.

    Best.

    That's fair!

Good suggestion about sorting by date - this will certainly help, although I don't know the full history of this setup. If changes were made, then updates applied that replace handlers, those changes may not be the most recent in the directory (not sure if you see what I mean?)

Unfortunately, I have no information on whether there are ANY Handler mods in place (either done "correctly", or through modification of System Handlers.) Obviously, I can spend time in carefully reviewing the system, but the project doesn't really have the budget or the bandwidth for me to do a thorough job of this. (The customer said "No Handlers", but I see files in I3\IC\Handlers\Custom, which makes me suspicious!)

I was hoping that Migrator would take away this particular pain! 😉

Just to further pick your brain, I seem to remember that it was considered preferable to migrate objects separately, or in "batches". I.E. Stations / Managed IP Phones and then Users / Workgroups / Roles rather than doing it all in one hit. Thoughts?

I got your point. But Migrator can't handle system handler modifications either. You have to check system handler modifications by yourself.
And for that, it is better to check dates first to save time :).

Non system handler modifications generally starts with "custom incoming call" handler. Maybe you can start with it and follow the subroutines.

There are lot's of connected configuration. For example; users' configuration has workgroup membership data and roles data. So you have to import users, workgroups and roles at once.
Lines, line groups and Dial Plan are also connected.
Stations, station groups, ip phones, templates etc. are connected as well.

I'd recommend to do import at once.

    Best,
