Still going with this one. It appears to be adding the record to the DNC list even if i don't click the button to add it. I only have the 1 data action included in the script as below

i have given the agent an outbound agent profile and they have the following permission to enable them to add the contact to the DNC list

I have appended a BLANK calling list to the campaign i am dialling and it adds the number to the DNC list automatically. Any suggestions ?.

Richard,
I'm sorry to hear that - I'm stumped!
I suggest opening a ticket with Genesys Support - they might see something in the logs to explain what's going on.

Paul it still doesnt look like that has worked.
I have done a straight test with 3 numbers in the OB queue and all have connected - which they should.
i have then applied a DNC list with 2 of the mobile numbers which are in the calling list and created a new outbound script with the Outbound Add To Do Not Call List Action.
When i run the campaign it doesn't dial the numbers already on the DNC list however it appears to be automatically adding the other number to the DNC list as soon as the call pops and before i have even considered clicking the submit button to add it to the DNC List.
Why would it add it automatically prior to me clicking the submit button ?.

Much thanks to Paul Simpson who has helped me out resolving my issue and getting me sorted in adding people to a DNC. Brilliant stuff and much appreciated.

Hopefully Paul sorts that out for you on a call.
Just one other thing. If you aren't using expiration date, you could use the outbound.add to do not call list action instead of the scripter version.
Which doesn't take any inputs. Just adds the current number to the DNC list.

Outbound

Scripter

As mentioned there is also the option of using a DataAction to add it to a specific DNC list.

Paul that would be much appreciated. I am free from 4pm BST tomorrow if that fits in with your schedule and if not let me know when you are free.

Richard,
Firstly, may I apologize if I am being particularly stupid here? I'm not seeing what you describe. Where on the last image does it show the Teams number was added to DNC? I don't see any number in that image?
Also, I'm confused as to why you are hard-coding a number in the Script action definition? This would typically be a variable which is either the number called (to allow you to simply add this number to DNC, or a variable linked to a text box to allow the agent to enter the number to add. (There are other places the number may come from, but those are two of the more likely ones...)
The way your script is written (which I accept may just be for testing purposes) then once the button was clicked, it would essentially cease to have a purpose. I'm not certain, but my reading of the final screenshot is that the first time you clicked the button, it added the number. You then clicked it twice more and it said it couldn't, which may be down to the fact that the number is already there?
I'd be happy to hop on a call with you, if it would be easier to look at live. Just remember that despite being English, I live in the US, so I'm 5 hours behind you! 😂

Paul,
As you can see from the attachment the first image is the script action with the mobile number included and it is attributed to a DNC list which i have built which has 2 mobile numbers on it which is the second image of the Excel spreadhseet.
I have then uploaded this DNC list into the DNC List section in List Management and then added this list to the OB calling list i am dialling which has the 2 mobile numbers and my Teams number included in that list.
The next image is of the roles and permissions if the test user i am using to complete the test and i have made sure that they have the DNC>Add permission on the Outbound Agent role ONLY.
The next image is an image of the message i get when the call is taken and the number is successfully added to the DNC list. As you can see from the last image it has added the Teams number to the DNC list and not just the number i have stipulated in the Action.

Richard,
I'm not sure I understand your issue. You can add any number, but you have to specify what it is! Could you open the script in the script editor and take a screenshot of the action specification?
In the screenshot you posted, there was no variable specified for the number...

Paul,
i have got it working to a degree but keep getting the following errors. Is it possible to add ANY number to the DNC list as it appears from the resource centre that you have to stipulate a number to remove in the script action but it would be ideal if you could add ANY number to the DNC list.

It's a common (and reasonable) misunderstanding that "Admin" rights means "Everything". This isn't the case. There are separate "Admin" users for Telephony, Outbound, etc. I'm not even certain "Master Admin" gives you everything.

Simon,
i did not add the mobile to the number on purpose as it is my personal mobile and i didn't want a mass audience to see it. I am testing with a profile which has Admin rights so there shouldn't be any issue with the roles and permissions to enable the user to add the contact to the DNC list. I have made sure the agent i am testing with is in the right division and when i am trying to add the contact to the DNC list i am getting the attached errors. These errors are "failed to add number to the Do Not Call List" and "An unknown error has occured while executing a script action".

Hi
Forgive me for basic question, the attached image is blurry but it did not look like you added the telephone number variable in the dialog box?
Also believe they need to have permission Outbound > DNC > Add
Regards
Simon

i have followed the resource article Available script actions - Genesys Cloud Resource Center (mypurecloud.com) and added a button and then Clicked Scripter.Add to Do Not Call List and added a DNC List and then entered a mobile number to add to the DNC list and then clicked update. I have made sure that the DNC list has been attached to the Outbound campaign i am dialling and the call has landed on the number i am trying to add to the DNC list. I have clicked the button to initiate the action but it doesn't appear to be adding the number to the DNC list ?. I may need to add multiple numbers to the DNC list and wondered if there was any way this could be done ?.
