Hi Mark,
your findings are correct, the initial release of Adherence Explanations was "Running Late" where employees can report late for their next work activity via the Tempo app.
There is an idea in the ideas lab for expanding the concept further please take a look at, WFM Adherence exception for agent - WEM-I-834, and add your comments, use case and vote to help us with future prioritisation of work to understand people's requirements best.

We recently discovered the option allowing agents to add adherence explanations. Are we correct in our findings that explanations are restricted to the following?
- Only Agents can add adherence explanations. Supervisors cannot.
- Agents can only add explanations thru the Tempo app.
- Agents can only notify if running late.
- Agents cannot add explanations to any other adherence exceptions appearing on their schedule.
