We are looking to be able to connect to AWS lambda, Lex to within GC..  Are these types of data actions AWS transaction include in the API count within the GC or..  Meaning if not included, are there any limitation how many we can run within an org concurrent and total..   Not clear with the below link..

I looked and found nothing regarding this.  I know that most of the built-in tools with the exception of Data Actions does not have normal usage tracking and I have never seen any reporting on their usage.  They are already charging the BYOT charge per call, so that probably is more than any API charge, so they got you either way or maybe double-dipping on both.

TL;DR: the fair usage policy applies specifically to public API requests made into your Genesys cloud org, and is not separately applied to the underlying resources/service (unless there is a specific usage charge associated with that service)

The fair usage policy generally applies to the usage of the Public API resources through Oauth Clients not owned or managed by Genesys Cloud.  Using data actions as an example, the invocation of a data action from a call flow or Genesys Cloud script would not be included in the API Usage calculations, as that is leveraging Genesys Cloud resources from within Genesys Cloud; however, if you were to invoke a data action from a custom scripting application that uses your own API client by way of the public API route to execute a data action, that public API call would count within that fair usage policy.

The same should generally be true of resources like Lex or Polly, called from your IVR call flow (note that there may be separate usage charges for those services, which should be outlined in your subscription documents).

API calls made from AppFoundry apps (and therefore made through an Oauth Client not controlled or maintained by Genesys Cloud) would be counted towards the fair usage allocation.

This is not meant to be comprehensive advice but rather a general discussion of the concepts at play; if there are questions, I would highly recommend that you raise your specific areas of concern with your CSM, TAM, or account representative.

Thank you all for your quick response..  I understand Lex/poly, as there may be a diff charge for each invocation..  But about specifically for AWS Lambda, does that flow in the API counts.. Thanks
