Description: Messenger plugins will change from using browser cookies to localStorage. This will provide additional security around how existing conversations are fetched and persisted as Messenger end-users navigate your website and revisit the conversation.
When: This change will automatically take effect on Tuesday, July 27th, between 7 AM and 8 AM Eastern.
Impact: Once the change takes effect, any active conversations will be lost when the Messenger end-user leaves or refreshes the page. The next time the Messenger loads, a brand new conversation will be presented. After this change is in place, there will be no further impact to conversation persistence.
