We have a customer deployment requiring integration with an on-premises only SOAP webservice. Previously we deployed a bridge server to build a similar integration for another customer.
The bridge server deprecation notice states that removal begins 31-Dec and that:
Genesys will replace the following Bridge integrations with comparable/similar functionality by December 31, 2019. Each of these Bridge integrations will have a different migration platform
- Do you have any details about the replacement we could use for on-premises SOAP as none of our local channels (sales or technical) are able to provide any answers
Also on the depreciation notice:
Remove the Bridge integration feature from PureCloud, with the exception of the PureConnect Bridge integration
- This implies to me (In the absence of anything else) that Bridge Servers/Bridge Server Integrations that exist before 31-Dec will remain/continue to work but you won't be able to build any new ones?
- Can you clarify if my understanding is anywhere near close?
I appreciate we could build an intermediary SOAP API to REST-API converter and make the REST API public, but the bridge server option is by far the quicker/easier/cheaper option.

A couple of things worth noting here. First, the Web Service Data Dip connector does not support SOAP. It already required some form of middleware to interpret the (extremely limited) REST interface the connector does support to any sort of SOAP commands you might be interested in.
Second, there are a number of good options available for connecting to premise based resources, several of which are discussed in the deprecation article you're quoting from. If you need more information, please contact me directly and I'll send you some additional documentation.
Third, your reading of that line in the deprecation notice is off base. What it is saying is that the deprecation notice applies to ALL Bridge Connectors that serve as integrations between PureCloud and a Non-Genesys external system. It is specifically excluding those integrations that are targeted and PureConnect.

Richard,
Thanks for your reply. Looks like I had made a few mistakes in my understanding of how things bolted together, so appreciate you clarifying them.
Looks like I'll have to go back to the drawing board on our plan for this (& if I get stuck I'll contact you directly as you suggested)
Thanks again
Cheers Lloyd
