Sorry to hear this is happening. 429s are a rate limit error. It sounds like something with the chat is hitting an endpoint to often or making to many requests in a single moment. I have put our documentation below:

The best route would be to open a ticket with support and have them look into what is happening, like you have already done.

Starting yesterday my company started to get a 429 API error on some of our chats. When this happens the customer is not able to respond or receive any messages. We researched on our end and determined that the issue was on Genesys's side. We opened a ticket yesterday but haven't heard back yet and continue to have issues today.
Is anyone else experiencing this?
