Data Actions currently can not manipulate conversations (transfer, hold, mute, disconnect, etc.). The reason is that Data Actions operate in the context of a Oauth client credential. This credential type can be configured to have roles, but they never have a user context. Conversation APIs on the other hand will only allow conversations to be manipulated by participants, which means a user context that is part of the conversation. This mismatch currently makes conversation manipulation impossible.
To try to avoid Data Action developers from running into this the hard way we are in the process of updating our Genesys Cloud data action documentation. We also created an AHA idea for this feature. If this capability is important to you please vote for the idea and add any specific use cases you have.
