  • 1.  Data Action Test Works, Fails in Architect

    Hi All,

I've got a strange issue where a data action i've been using for a while is failing in the call flow. When I test it from the action itself, the request works, but when it runs in the call flow, even with a known good literal value (vs. dtmf input), it fails.

How can this be diagnosed? I've been working under the assumption that if the action worked when you tested it, it'd work in the flow....

Is there a way to retrieve some error/log information from the flow?

    Thanks
    Dean.

You could set participant data in your flow on each step to see where it is failing. Then grab the conversation ID and look in Developer. If not, support can tell you what step it is failing on.

Hi Angelia... It's failing on the actual call data action. The flow asks for dtmf input from the caller, but in this case for troubleshooting i'm using a literal value (my id - the integration is prod but the actual flow is dev). The same action works when I run it manually with the same literal value.... i'm going to create a trouble issue on this. Very weird.

    call flow

    data action

This ended up being resolved by the support team... evidently there was an issue with an edge and they rolled back the version. The questions I have on this are:

    • There were other data actions in this flow that were still working... how is it that those worked but this specific one did not?
    • It also failed work in my dev org... this might lead someone on my team to believe that the issue was with the target / host api rather than the application.
    • How is it that the action could be tested successfully from the action itself, but then fail when executing from architect.... I would really like to think that these two events would either work or not work in tandem. Having a situation where it fails in architect but works when tested is very confusing for support teams.
    • Is there a way to get logs for the failures like this without having to create a support ticket?

    Hi Dean,

What type of flow is that? Secure flow?
