Hello Genesys Cloud Developers,
In June 2024 we announced the upcoming deprecation of Chat V2, including all related API endpoints, providing 1 year notice to help you prepare for necessary migration steps. The related Chat APIs were listed in our original Developer Forum Announcement, however there will be impacted APIs which were not originally listed. This announcement is being made to identify the additional APIs which will be officially deprecated starting today.

We have announced the deprecation of ACD Web Chat in order to focus all our efforts and resources on building and expanding Web Messaging, which adds a modern async experience to traditional chat, and is better aligned to future expansion on Messenger as a unified framework of digital apps (including Messaging, Knowledge, Co-browse, and more coming soon). This also allows us to leverage modern technology stack for APIs and JavaScript or Mobile SDKs, for improved integration and overall stability & security.
Customer Impact
As these endpoints will soon become non-functional, users should migrate any usage of Chat and related resources to Web Messaging and Messenger. All organizations with monthly Chat usage have been notified in recent months.
