  • 1.  DID used for voicemail and SMS

    I currently have a DID coming in and going directly to voicemail. We are being asked to use that same number to also receive SMS. We don't currently do anything with SMS. It will be new functionality for us.

    1. Is there a way in Architect to figure out if I'm receiving a call or SMS?
    2. Do I need to use a purchased SMS number for this? Can I use the current DID I have for voicemail, or do I need to purchase a new SMS number?

    Hey Kara,

    We don't currently offer using voice calls and SMS using the same number. I was looking around and I did see that someone has submitted an Idea to the Genesys Cloud Product Ideas Lab and it is currently listed as Upcoming Development

    If you click the VOTE button on that page, it should notify you via email as this Idea progresses through development.
