I'm curious about your environment set up. Which regions are you considering for a customer deployment in Hong Kong?

Hi Robert,
Thanks for the information. Still not quite understand how GMF operates. Sorry for some stupid questions.
- We are planning to subscribe two GC org for customer, one is primary and the other one is for DR purpose. So for the direct connect, is it only connect to one media region? And it can communicate with two GC org?
- Is the SIP signal still route to GC directly and RTP will be using media region?

No, you don't need Direct Connect to attach to GC. The new Global Media Fabric allows WebRTC and SIP trunks to terminate to the closest region that has GC and passes RTP voice over the AWS backbone which is what you would get with Direct Connect except for free

Subject: Direct connect to GC
Hi all,
I'm new here. Our company is located in Hong kong. We would like to apply a direct connect to GC. I have a question, that is where should the "direct connect" connect to? Because Hong kong has its own media region, should the "direct connect" connect to media region? Or connect to GC organisation location?
If connecting to the media region, is that mean from the client site to GC organisation location, will use public internet? And the call traffic will be using direct connect to media region?
Thanks in advance for answering my question.
Edmond
