Enforcing SMTP Integration State Validation for ACD Email Sends

  • 1.  Enforcing SMTP Integration State Validation for ACD Email Sends

    Posted 14 days ago

    Summary

The platform will now enforce SMTP integration state validation for ACD email sends. If an SMTP integration is in an error state, email sends will fail until the integration is reset to an active statewithin the Integrations UI.

    Effective Date

    Tuesday, January 6, 2026

    Details

Sending emails via SMTP requires an active integration. Each integration has defined operational states, and integrations in a failed or invalid state should not be used.

Currently, a defect allows ACD email sends to proceed even when the associated SMTP integration is in an error state. This behavior is inconsistent with the logic already enforced for Campaigns and Agentless Sends.

With that enhancement, the platform was updated to reject campaign and agentless email sends relying on integrations in an invalid state, ensuring reliability and platform stability. However, ACD email sends were not yet covered by this validation, leading to confusion during some incidents.

To minimize risk, the enforcement for ACD email sends will be rolled out behind a feature toggle and enabled after the effective date.

    Customer Impact

    • Currently, ACD email sends ignore SMTP integration state, allowing emails to send even if the integration is marked as error.

    • With this change, the integration state will be validated before each ACD email send.

    • If the integration is in an error state, email sends will fail until the integration is reset to active in the Integrations UI.
