is there a way in the script to pass the participantid of the caller. I want the current participant so I can replace to originating caller/participant in the conversation

Are you referring to agent scripts? Or JavaScript? If you're talking about the SDK, look through the conversation participants to find the one you want. If this is inbound ACD, the external party will be connected and have a purpose of customer.
