  • 1.  Group Calls to Poly VVX phones

    I have a site ( Genesys Communicate ) that uses Poly VVX 150 phones ( instead of webphone ) , they have 2 DID numbers and three phones and they  want the inbound calls to the DID numbers to ring on all three phones . Apparently ,I can't assign numbers to multiple phones so I have created a Group and I have the users assigned to the group . If I call the individual user , the assigned phone rings as expected . However , if I call the DID and rout the call thru the IVR to the group , the phones never ring , after about 30 seconds , the group mailbox answers . I have added an extension number to the Poly phones but they still don't ring . 

    I have built a similar group at another site that uses webphone , the group call works perfect . 
    Sorry , old school Nortel guy trying to learn the smoke and mirrors of this cloud stuff :-)
    Any thoughts or words of wisdom ?

    Hi Bart,

    As you may have noticed by now - Genesys Cloud doesn't support device based group calls and they are only user based.

    From the sounds of your scenario, you're routing your DID's through Architect and then using a 'Transfer to Group' step.

    If so, make sure in the Group configuration:

    - Users are added as 'Members' and not in the Owners
    - Set 'Call Route Type' to Broadcast
    - Enable Calls is 'On'
    - That a 'Group Phone Number' is assigned (even if it's just some extension or other number that never gets used)


    This setup will need the users to be logged in to make the physical phones ring as part of this group.
