  • 1.  How to detect "Customer Typing" event in WhatsApp integration

    Hi everyone,

    I'm working with the Genesys Cloud WhatsApp integration and would like to know if there's a way to detect when a customer is typing (a "typing" indicator event) during an active messaging conversation.

    I've checked the Conversations API and the Notifications API (v2.notifications), but I haven't found any event or flag that indicates when the customer is typing before sending the actual message.

    Is there any existing API event, webhook, or workaround to capture the "customer typing" state for WhatsApp messages in Genesys Cloud? Or is this functionality simply not supported at this time?

    Thanks in advance for any insights or documentation references!

    Hi Rogelio,

    Based on available documentation, Genesys Cloud doesn't appear to support "typing indicators" for WhatsApp.
    You can check the Channel, Bot, and Touchpoint Capabilities comparison article, where Typing indicators are listed as Not supported.
