I never noticed before, but yes, part of how it functions. I have noticed on other messaging platforms that some have the option to just minimize the chat and retain what you typed or close the widget which wipes unsent text.
You may want to submit an Idea.

This behavior is immediate. If a message is typed but not sent, and the chat window is minimized, the typed text will be cleared when you maximize the window again. Only sent messages are retained in the chat history.
Because I type something and minimize the chat window, after some time when I come back to maximize, the message is not there in what I typed in text. This is the expected behavior of the chat widget.

How long do you have to wait before that happens? Is it immediate?

@Genesys Community,
When I type a message in the 'Send a message' area in the cloud chat window and minimize without sending, when I maximize the chat window, the message has disappeared. Is this expected behaviour for the chat widget?
Thanks,
Haridass
