Genesys Cloud - Main

Good morning, 

We currently have a dashboard in Power BI with different metrics that are not able to be in Genesys as they are in our Core. I want to integrate these into Genesys Cloud's "dashboard" area. Is there an easy way to do this with an API or another option? We prefer to not have to add an app from AppFoundry, if possible. Any guidance or assistance is super appreciated! Thank you.

There are a couple of ways to do this. The first being external Metrics API integration. Genesys cloud provides an external metrics data upload api that allows you to integrate external data directly into the platform. You can use this API to push your core metrics into Genesys Cloud. 

Example implementation steps would be:

• Configure external metric definitions in Genesys Cloud
• Use the POST /api/v2/employeeperformance/externalmetrics/data endpoint
• Set up automated data sync between your core and genesys cloud.

Thank you for suggesting the external metrics API. This dashboard is for department wide goals and not individual so I don't believe we want to go that route. 

In Interaction Desktop, our previous provider, we had an API connect the dashboard from Power BI into the "dashboards" section. That is what I am looking at so managers and team can quickly see the dashboard while in Cloud. 

I tried adding the dashboard as a widget in the Dashboard section, however I keep getting this error:

But this is the area we are trying to add this dashboard into.

Edited To Add: I talked to our team that works with the Power BI and it makes sense that this did not work as it is hosted locally, but this is still the area we are trying to add the dashboard in.
