Daniel,
I had the customer on site confirm that the Polycom phones have the ZTP service enabled. Its a bit frustrating that you can see the ZTP service settings on the physical phone interface menus, but nothing at all in the web interface to the phones. But anyways...
I do have the phone Base Settings setup with the Network/Provision method as "From the PureCloud provisioning service", see image. But hasn't succeeded yet.
Here's another question. I understand from the Resource Center articles that the phone boots up, reaches out to Polycom's ZTP service, and the ZTP service somehow understands that the MAC address for that phone is in the specific PureCloud ORG, and magically provisions the phone my customer Edges. How does it know where those phone MACs are? Did my company who sold the customer the Polycom phones have to register the MACs with the ZTP service? Or does Polycom simply have the logistics setup to know who the MAC addresses are going to? I'm wondering if thats a missing link here - maybe I need to get our sales/procurement department to register the MACs with ZTP service?
The ZTP service is kind of new to me. I've been busy the last year or so with a lot of Architect work, haven't done a lot of phone provisioning. I like how the idea of the ZTP service is supposed to work, but if I can't get ZTP to work, we'll just go back to the DHCP Option 160 like we used to do.
Thanks for any feedback.

Hi Greg,
The problem you're going to run into, is that ZTP will be disabled if it fails. If you don't have the phone pre-configured or it cannot reach the ZTP service, ZTP will be set to disabled. Per Polycom docs, ZTP is automatically disabled each time the device accesses ZTP.
I don't know about 501's, but VVX 311's definitely support it (assuming you are using a supported firmware). You'll want to make sure the phone trunks and phones are configured properly. The main thing for the phones is that they are set to provision from the PureCloud Provisioning Service.
Thanks,

Does anyone know if you can determine if a Polycom VVX is enabled for Zero Touch Provisioning (ZTP) via the web interface of the phone?
I'm trying to work with a customer to get some Polycom VVX 311 and 501 phones provisioned to their PureCloud BYOC local Edges. The phones are booting up and getting an IP address on their network, but not provisioning or registering at all.
I can remotely login to the web interface of these phones we are testing, but I don't see any mention of ZTP in the phone web interface. Should I?
Per this article https://help.mypurecloud.com/articles/polycom-zero-touch-provisioning-requirements/#Confirm-ZTP, you can go through menus on the physical phones and see if ZTP is enabled. I remember doing this in other situations. But I don't know if its just not identified in the remote web interface, or if these are older phones that don't support ZTP. I have asked the customer to look at the physical interface, but that requires him to go back into the office (Covid hassles).
Anyone know? Or can you look at the web interface on your Polycom and see if you see that ZTP enabled or not?
