    Hey Community,

Picture this - A Question of the Month (QOTM) that is all about the best pictures of the year so far

Hard to imagine? What if there was a prize for the community's favorite picture???

STILL HARD TO IMAGINE? Well scroll down for details and picture submissions.

July - QOTM & Contest Details

For the community team, 2025 has been one for the record books:

    • We've opened new communities,
    • One teammate had a baby,
    • One Senior Program Manager (me) had a milestone birthday,
    • AI images are surging in popularity (and maybe entertainment value), and
    • We've given away a record number of prizes!

So, we come to ask one question - What has been your favorite picture of the year?

Oh, to clarify, we mean photos, images, etc. If you ever want to talk about movies Matt and Nicole would love to, but we can do that in a separate thread.

For now, share your favorite image. Did it tickle you? Move you? Impress you?? Is it one you took? One of you? One your made? Or one you found in the deep recesses of the internet? Share below for the chance to win a prize

    Prize Details

For the first prize of the Community's Midyear review Challenge, the image with the most "likes" will receive a prize from the prize wall! Don't be afraid to share your favorite picture to enter, or give a like and vote for your favorite picture.

We will determine a winner based on the number of likes the pictures received between July 1st and July 31st.

In the event of a tie, we will have a community poll to determine our winner.

What is the Midyear Review Challenge?

This month, we are doubling…ummm...tripling…we are…well there are going to be a lot of prize opportunities during our Midyear Challenge.

The full details of this community event will be revealed next week after we close out the Reporting and Analytics Tips and Tricks Contest (Reminder - this is the last week to get your submissions in).

    In Conclusion

Join us for a month of fun in the community and, for now, may the best picture win!

    Cheers,

    Matt & Team

@Matt Lawson - That should be on the Prize Wall. I'm sure many GCAP members have little fellas at home.

@Matt Lawson @Ashiesh Sharma, it's real, and I ride it too - but I won't post those pictures.  It says that it holds up to 160 lbs (which we have exceeded, and it still works) and can reach speeds of up to 5 MPH!

Great for one year olds because she can't fall too far. The older kid (and adults) love it- and the floors get cleaned while playing!

For my submission. I love a good photo bomb! In the picture are two of my best friends. They are drinking "trashclaw," it is a signature drink of the other guy in the picture and me. I thought we had something special! But, on my birthday weekend no less, I saw he was having one with another friend AND taking an usie!! THE NERVE of some people. I saw my opportunity to crash the party and pounced.

So this isn't a picture of me, obviously, but I took this picture and laugh every time I see it in my phone. A few months ago I was movie-surfing and came across one of my favorite movies listed in a very strange category.

Goes to show even the biggest companies get it wrong sometimes. Unless they meant "horrifically funny..." In that case, they got it perfectly right!

My brother took a great photo of our entire family at my youngest daughter's graduation.
My favorite photo is the one my brother took of our whole family (and 2 of her friends) at my youngest daughter's graduation.
(Starting in the bottom right corner is said brother - behind him is our dad, our mom, the graduate, my brother's wife, my eldest daughter has the blue hair. The second row on the left would be my graduating daughter's best friend since 7th grade. I'm directly behind the graduate, and my husband is directly behind me. The bearded wonder is my graduate's boyfriend of three years, and the girl in the blue dress in the back left is her other best friend since 9th grade).
We are a motley crew, that's for sure... but this is my favorite photo of the year thus far.

This picture captures one of my most cherished memories of the year, being part of the SheLeadsTech Event 2025 alongside inspiring professionals and leaders. Receiving recognition for my volunteer work from an esteemed IPS officer was a truly humbling and motivating moment. It symbolizes growth, empowerment, and the power of collective effort in technology and leadership.

It's not just a photo, but a powerful reminder of inspiration, community, and purpose. Grateful to be part of something that empowers and uplifts women in tech.

One of my favorite pics from a trip I took back to SoCal in March. We had to sell the property after my dad died, but this was my back yard growing up. Our property ended at the base of the first hill (southern city limits of Corona, CA), and the rest is Cleveland National Forest.

For me, it's this one. I decided this year we were going to go next level with the gardens. Starting plants from seed, planting more and additional types, adding in some fencing, reworking the rain barrels - the whole works. Part of that included better protecting the strawberry bed, as the critters always gobble them up before we can pick them. This picture is a celebration of that endeavor - I picked over 2 pounds! SO delicious and rewarding. Even if they were gone in like a day.

Apollo the dog just sunbathing in the 80+ degree heat.
And to get ahead of some of the questions:
    • Breed: A pit mix, potentially husky
    • Age: He's 5 and a half
    • He was rescued by a friend from the shelter, but after he got into a fight with Athena, he needed to be rehomed, so he made his way to me about 4 years ago.

My photo was taken last Sept while i walked through Hyde park London to catch the train at dusk. The sun was going down exactly at the head of the path i was walking on creating a stunning stop and take your breath away moment. For about 2 minutes it remained in line with the path and illuminated the trees and people with amazing hues of orange. My first time in England and first day ever in London was definitely memorable.

✨ Standing Where Stories Still Breathe ✨

This has to be my favorite picture of the year. Early this year, in the narrow lanes of old Amritsar (India), I had gone to trace the whispers of my heritage back to Punjab. As my friend got ready to take this shot, out of nowhere a scooter's headlights lit up these weathered walls, I stood still, feeling the resilience of those who walked here before me. This moment reminds me that even in the tightest spaces, our histories find light-and so do we.

This is a picture from a ski trip at Boyne mounting in Michigan from early this year. It was a beautiful evening, not too cold and we were sitting by the campfire having smores when i snapped this of the view.

Very late to the party on this, but I thought I'd share a photo of my prototype water wheel, and an initial sketch of how I intend on designing the much bigger one of wood - which is an exciting photo by my standards!

The plan is for a much larger one for the side of my children's playhouse. My wife jokes that I'll use it to grind wheat, but it does make me wonder...

If anyone has any experience building water wheels then I'd love to hear from you.

We recently took a trip to see the Redwood National Forest. If you haven't been, I would highly recommend!

While there we got the typical photo of us trying, and failing to hug around the trunk of those Goliath trees. I thought it would be funny to get a picture doing the same from the other end of the spectrum.
