I recently raised an idea for the Genesys Cloud Windows app, to be able to take advantage of the Microsoft Remote Desktop Multimedia Redirection Service. This has now moved into "Community Feedback Requested", so this post is to try and make more people aware of it! The idea itself can be found under EPAD-I-261.
The reasoning behind this is that when using the Genesys Cloud for Windows app within a Windows 365 Cloud PC, performance can suffer. This can range anywhere from poor call quality to dropped calls. To combat this, we have tested using the Microsoft multimedia redirection service, together with it's accompanying browser extension, to redirect traffic from the Genesys Cloud web application, to the local device (that connects to the Cloud PC). In our testing, this has worked relatively well, with much improved performance.
More details can be found in the Ideas post itself, but in short, the Windows app would be able to make use of the service, and, recognising when it's running on a Cloud PC, redirect call traffic to the local device.
