When using the GetContactByPhoneNumber lookup, which phone number field is searched in the CRM? Business Phone, Home Phone, Mobile Phone? Is there a way to specifically search against the Business Phone field?

GetContactByPhoneNumber searches Telephone1, Telephone2, and MobilePhone. If you need different behavior, you'll need to build a custom bridge integration to make your own requests to MSCRM.

Thanks for the reply. That is exactly what I needed to know. Is there any documentation to show which fields are searched for each of the Data Dip functions?

It's not currently documented, but I've created BC-1002 to improve the documentation.

Thanks for the information. I was hoping I could use the Custom Attribute to accomplish the search using an alternate field.

Just tested attempting to use the Mobile Phone, but the bridge action still returned a response payload that there was "No contact found for phone number:" despite the fact that the phone number passed to the lookup matches the phone number in the Contact record for the Mobile Phone. I don't see the Telephone1 or the Telephone2 attributes exposed within the UI for the "Contact Information" view that I have available to me.

Clarifying above, Telephone1 is mapped to Business Phone and Telephone2 is mapped to Home Phone in a default Instance. However, these values can be changed in configuration.

Does the formatting of the number match in both MSCRM and the phone number passed to the lookup, i.e. digits only or they both look like "(555) 222-2222"?

We already stripped the ANI of the leading "tel:+1" since the CRM display is digits only. We are passing "Right(Call.ANI, 10)" as the parameter for the lookup. We have not yet been successful in getting a match to either the Business Phone or Mobile Phone using the out of the box lookup.
