    Hello everyone,

We wanted to inform you about upcoming changes to Architect actions.

In a future Genesys Cloud release, Architect actions will feature collapsible cards instead of nested accordions. This interface change offers several advantages to flow authors.

    • Creates a clear visual hierarchy and call-to-action, simplifying the identification of crucial elements for focus.
    • Enhances section differentiation, enabling a clearer understanding of their interrelation.
    • Provides the flexibility to collapse cards, allowing users to quickly access key information.
    • Offers the option to expand cards to unveil finer configuration details as required.

We expect this update to go out around April.

Here is a preview of this change:

    Before After

The following actions will be updated:

    • Call Audio Connector
    • Call Bot Connector
    • Call Dialogflow Bot
    • Call Dialogflow CX Bot
    • Call Lex Bot
    • Call Lex V2 Bot
    • Clear Slot
    • Get Secured Data
    • Get Conversation Data
    • Get Participant Data
    • Loop Until
    • Set Conversation Data
    • Set Secured Data
    • Set Participant Data
    • Switch
    • Update Data

    Hi Amelie,

Currently each section is expanded by default.

With this change will the cards be in the collapsed state by default or the expanded state?

Will there be a collapse all / expand all buttons?

My initial thoughts are I like the look of the cards, but concerned when all are expanded we will see less items on screen at a time which will result in more scrolling.

    Hi Anton,

    Thank you for reaching out.

To answer your questions, when adding a card, the one that is active and being worked on will be expanded. All others will be collapsed. This is to managed the space in the configuration area like you mentioned. To allow for high level information gathering as you are scanning over the collapsed list, we have put the data name and the data type information into the header section of the card. There won't be any 'expand / collapse all' actions but if you need more than one card open at a time you can use the SHIFT+click to open additional cards.

Any further questions feel free to ask.

Thanks Colin appreciate the response, and the preview.

Will there be a beta at all? Or can we get some screenshots of the other types, like switches and loops especially would be interesting to see how those work in card format.

    Hi Amelie,

The Expand/Collapse all button mentioned by Anton would be pretty useful.

Additionally, to sort the cards currently we have the arrow buttons to move them up and down. Since the arrows are missing in the new UI screenshot, does that mean the cards will be draggable?

    Hi Sriram,

Thank you for your questions and feedback.

There won't be any 'expand / collapse all' action. What we have tried to do is provide more information in the card header section so that in a collapsed state you can see the data name and type. If you do need to compare multiple entries at the same time you can use SHIFT + click to open more than one card. We have upgraded the cards to allow for drag and drop re-ordering as a replacement for the up / down arrows.

Hope this helps and feel free to reach out with any further questions.

To provide more information it would make more sense to have the value instead of the type, that is what I'm usually interested in.
Otherwise I will be forced to expand all to see the information I need when looking through a flow.

Type could just be an icon in front of the variable name.
