    Maybe somebody knows how to add/update records to the Calling list through the API?

    I assume you mean contact lists for the outbound dialer.  If so and you are not using Salesforce to sync lists, you should check out this link:  Contact Management (genesys.cloud).  The exact API is POST /api/v2/outbound/contactlists/{contactListId}/contacts

    I mean the object that is created/managed at "Admin-> Outbound-> Contact Lists"
    Sorry for the "stupid" question:
    Is it possible to add/update the record (contact) in the contact list without stoping the campaign?

    Yes, you can update a campaign while it is running.  Through the API, when you send contacts in, you can flag the contact(s) to be priority, meaning they will go at the top of the list instead at the bottom of the list.  You don't have to stop the campaign when adding contacts.  What you can't do is change the columns in the list or change to a new list without stopping it.

    Adding to Robert's answer: if you're planning to add a large number of contacts at once, the API Robert recommended can support up to 1000 records at once, but a contact list import is preferred for large batches.

    Is there a documentation link to support this?  Is there a negative to uploading 10's of thousands or 100's of thousands via the API?  Other than the 1000 records batch size?

    Yes, contacts can be added or updated but you can't change a list after it in production like change columns.
