Did you manage to get any updates regarding this?

I tried to change the default Panel today for one of our Orgs and noticed this same issue with Open Message.

i'm reading now. i have a lab environment so i need to try to do it. Is the missing open messaging chose in Panel Manager an issue in your opinion?

And yes, I believe that's an issue. I would like to change the default panel for this media type in one of our customer's Organization, but this type isn't on the list.
