Questions of the Month - Community's New Site Requests

    Hello all!

Now that we are fresh off the new redesign of the Genesys Community, we've heard so much great feedback from you all. We're so happy everyone seems to be enjoying it. For November's QOTM, we'd like to ask you:

What would you like to see on the new community site?

    • Is there anything missing?
    • Could navigating to certain resources be easier?
    • Is there any content that you wish was highlighted or easier to subscribe to?

Please note, this is specific to Community.Genesys.com. There are other channels for feedback on Genesys Cloud and Orchestrators sites.

Let us know! If you answer this question, you'll help us improve our site AND get a cool new QOTM badge to adorn that redesigned profile :)

The community pages have good overall feel to them functionality wise, once I adjusted to the new navigation, it was fairly straight-forward for me. I'd love to see a dark mode implemented; there's a ton of white space in the margins that is blinding at times. Apart from that, no major complaints from me! Nice work guys.

I did! I did some testing and while it looks great for Genesys sites, it inverts colors at times for other sites in a harsh way and makes some things harder to read. I'll keep fiddling around with it a bit and see if I can get things looking better.

Hey Robert! Are you talking about in the Genesys Cloud's new navigation or Community.Genesys.com? If you are talking about the Community, can you give me an idea of what you would like to store in your favorites?

Just a reminder that on the member home page, you can find your followed threads and communities that you have joined. Also, the Orchestrators tab on the righthand side of every page has links to a lot of Genesys sites.

If we are missing something, please let me know!

    Hello,

Something that I really feel is missing is a dark theme.
Another feature that I think would be great is having a progress indicator - like a percentage or even a list of the required activities - for earning each badge. Today we don't have visibility into which tasks are still needed to complete a badge, and that would be really helpful.

Biggest ask we have had was making the parked button easier to get to or making a hot key on the top with the rest. Having a favorites option in the menu could be a fix for this.

    Hi,

The new page looks fresh-nice work! UX is always subjective, so there's never a "perfect" page. We'll probably refresh the look again in the future.

    When we do that -

    • We can Group - Followed Content and Communities/Quick List etc, stacked vertically, with hover-expand or dropdown options.
    • Also, we can Add a toggle for Compact View vs Standard View, similar to Outlook, or other communities, where the user can customize his homepage.

Just some thoughts for later. The page for me looks absolutely great.

    thanks

The new community site looks amazing! The layout feels modern and easy to navigate. I'd love to have an option to add posts to favorites for quick access - it would make exploring and revisiting great content even smoother.

    Hey Luiz,

The good news is that we kind of have you covered. You can "Follow" discussions (this is covered in our Tour Video) and your followed discussions (including discussions you create or reply) are available on your Member Home page in the "Followed Content" widget.

    Cheers,

    Matt

    Hey Luiz,

Thanks for clarifying! The site has a lot of Email Notification Settings available in your profile. For instance, you can set your preferences for the Communities that you have joined and more General settings. To unsubscribe from a particular discussion's email notifications, I think you just need to unfollow the post. If that does not work, please let me know! I'll open a case with our software provider.

    Cheers,

    Matt

I really like it. Ever since they showed me the Flags to make the dark mode, I am on here more often and reading more daily. I wish it were native programming because some of the other places I go don't look that great, but it is a sacrifice that I am willing to make. Overall, it has been a wonderful experience with the new format.

    Hi,

New redesign of the Genesys Community is great. Just a feedback when navigating to community, there is so much of repeated information of community name. There is lot of information on page. If there an option please reduce it. Thanks

Hey Mike, I don't remember that being part of your profile, but when you go to a post or reply that you made and click the "More" button, you should have the ability to remove, delete, or "send to moderators" (and just add the note that you want it deleted and my team will remove it).

Thanks @Matt Lawson, When I click more all i can do is "Mark as inapproriate" or "Edit", when you edit all I can do is adjut the post and save or press cancel. This was the same for me before and i had to go to profile, view my contributions and delete a post. Perhaps a permission is not correct for us,  or just for myself?

    Hey Mike,

Okay, then yes! We will need to review those menu options. For now, if you want something removed, use the "Mark as inappropriate" option and leave a note letting us know you want it deleted. We'll take it from there.

Just a minor mod for ease of use of the search bar like an auto-complete suggestions.

In the community page's search bar, you'll need to hit "enter" to display the possible searches/threads, but in the new Navigation UI it is already available.

    Hello,

I really like the new interface.

However, having a filter to display only unanswered questions would make it even better.

Currently, I usually select the community, click "More", and then manually look for posts with 0 replies.

Hey Elisson! I really appreciate this feedback. It's an interesting idea. FWIW, you can navigate to any community's discussion tab and then filter by "Least Replies" and all of the posts with 0 replies will be at the top of the feed.

But I will think through ways we can make finding this option easier.

    Hey Simon,

There are a couple of options for this:

    1) Our Genessentials newsletters features hot threads each week. Subscribe to the Welcome Community and never miss a new edition.

    2) We don't have a Tab, but the Beta HQ Community is where we post available Betas (none are available at the moment).

    3) From any community, you can go to the "Discussion" tab and then filter by replies (no option for "Likes" but I definitely LIKE that idea).

    Hope this helps!

    Cheers,

    Matt

    Hi,

Overall, it feels fresh and easier to navigate. However, I am quite old school, I would like a more robust filtering and search tool available. The current search tools would be great if it could filter my search by topics (use cases, blueprints, recording, security, etc) and/or by solutions/features (...like it is kwown on the UI: recording, users, roles, etc ).

    Regards,

    SG

A section like "Top Posts of the Week" or "Popular Solutions" would make it much easier to discover valuable content quickly. It would also be great to have personal bookmark collections, favorites folders, or even a dashboard to better track my own activity. Additionally, a dark mode would be a fantastic enhancement.

Hey Oliver, when you sign in, you should go to your "Member Home Page". That page is personalized for you and the "Followed Content" widget has all of the discussion posts that you have followed, replied to, or started.

I love the idea about "Top Posts" or "Favorite Solutions". We highlight "Hot Theads" in each weeks' edition of the Community's Newsletter "Genessentials"

As for dark mode, this has been discussed before - Check here.

    Thanks for the feedback!
