Can anyone offer their experience on getting up to speed with the API?
I have an opportunity for work based on my ability to demonstrate that I have some knowledge of how the API functions, but I can't seem to figure out how to accomplish this without being an actual customer.
The test drive, which I signed up for in mid-June never worked for me and is no longer an option. Hoping someone may have suggestions on how to get started with the platform.

Let's get you started with a free trial: https://www.genesys.com/en-gb/campaign/try-genesys-cloud-for-free
This will give you a fully-functioning trial org - it's not the same product as Test Drive.

Thank you for your prompt reply. Unfortunately, we have already communicated that the free trial mentioned is not applicable to my use-case.
In a perfect world I am looking for a salesforce-esque sandbox so that I can kick the tires on the API. Perhaps nothing like this exists. But I can't help but thinking that I am in a chicken-egg scenario where one needs to have a business account to have access to the developer tools.
I am seeking input from the community on any tips they may have in getting up to speed on the platform. How did everyone get started?
