  • 1.  Scheduled Export of views - no option to export all columns?

    Hey All,

Really happy to see the new scheduled export of views option at last - this feature is going to be a huge timesaver for me.

However, I have a problem - when you schedule an export you don't have the option to export with all columns, only the viewed columns. If you chose to download or email the data, you can chose all columns...

    Anyone else have this problem?

You can bring it up as an idea on AHA and I'll let the PM know.  I noticed that as well, but really, the scheduled reports were really designed for external emails that would be limited in presentation.  A supervisor can go to the view at any time and see all the information, so why would they need a report scheduled to give them that same information in their inbox.  You would not want a manager or others to see ALL 100 or so fields of information you can get out of the views.  @Chris Boling, do you have any comment?

    Thanks for that, Robert.

I was primarily looking at using the scheduled reports to make my data export tasks easier - I had already created the views I needed and was exporting them manually each day.

All good though, I'm modifying my existing views to have the columns I now require, and have them scheduled to be emailed each day. Then I have Flow automagically stripping the attachments, storing the CSVs, and soon running macros to get the data into my PowerBI reports. What used to take 30mins of constant button clicks I hope to have set on a timer with no intervention from myself.  Then I take a holiday :)

Why aren't you using the Web Services CDS to connect directly to the Genesys Cloud Analytics API or at least do a batch download into another database like RDS, RedShift or Aurora?  https://cloud.netapp.com/blog/aws-cvo-blg-aws-databases-the-power-of-purpose-built-database-engines#H_H1

You can also use the new Eventbridge to populate the relational database.

If you want to skip all that, Avtex Insights on AppFoundry can do all that for you in Power BI.  https://appfoundry.genesys.com/filter/genesyscloud/listing/61a3411b-22c6-4b5d-b1f5-ee8162578541
