    Hi everyone,

We're currently in the process of integrating the OKTA platform with Genesys Cloud, aiming to leverage both SSO and SCIM functionalities.

While reviewing the SCIM documentation for Genesys Cloud, I noticed that it appears to support management of users and groups only. I was wondering if it's also possible to assign skills and queues to users via the SCIM API through OKTA?

Any insights or experiences would be greatly appreciated.

    Thank you in advance!

    Hello Mostafa,

I would take a look at the following links to see if they would help with your implementation.

hej, Jason! Since you are sharing this, I will try my luck with asking a related question :)
Can we assign a user to a workteam using this integration?

    Long time no speak!

I may be mistaken, but don't believe this is possible.

Thanks, @Gary Waddell! Long time indeed :) Genesys connecting people :D
I will raise an idea then. Genesys are releasing more and more functionalities dependednt on Work Teams - everyone would benefit from better UI and/or integration.

    Hi Mostafa,

I don't believe SCIM support queue mapping but it should let you map skills from OKTA to Genesys Cloud as the mapping documentation here lists 'Full URN: urn:ietf:params:scim:schemas: extension:genesys:purecloud:2.0: User:routingSkills.[].name' field.

    Hi Mostafa,

I think you will have to achieve this in two ways:

    • For queue membership you can provision users into a group & make the group a member of the queue.
    • For skill control you execute as Orhun describes above.

    Hope this helps, good luck!

Keep up n mind that if you want to delete a user assigned to groups, SCIM needs to remove the group membership before deleting users.

I think what you've described is the best solution, but just for completeness there is another alternative: You could use SCIM to provision the user and assign skills, and define 'skill groups' that will automatically associate users with particular skills to a group, then add that skill group as a member of a queue. It's a bit more roundabout but means that SCIM only needs to manage users (and their skills) not group membership.

True about queue assignment, but in the larger picture, using groups for queue assignment is a much better way of providing this functionality and allows for better WFM integration and simplified queue management.

    Hi @Mostafa OUDDERHEM,

Regarding group provisioning, please ensure that a group with the same name already exists in Genesys.
