  • 1.  SMS opt-out and restart

    We are in the process of submitting an SMS short code application.

    We understand that the SMS receivers can opt-out by sending keywords like STOP, STOPALL, UNSUBSCRIBE, CANCEL, END, and QUIT.

    They need to send the START, YES, and UNSTOP to restart.

    Once a receiver opted-out from the SMS service, Is there any other way to restart the SMS messages from the same short code other than sending START, YES, and UNSTOP. Like calling a customer service or restart using an API etc.

    Hi Velmani,

    We run TF and Short Code aggregation through our own service and although it is a bit different technically from the built-in SMS, it follows the same industry requirements. The only way to get a user to re-enable is to send those keywords. You cannot opt them in via phone or web. You have to guide the users to send  Unstop or Start keywords.
