Why is there not the ability to click on a column heading and sort the results from that column (and the corresponding columns as a result)? For example, if I'm in Performance - Content Search - Content, I have columns showing of Users, Date, Initial Direction, Queue, ANI, DNIS, Sentiment Score, Sentiment Trend. I would like the ability to click on the column of Sentiment Score and have the results sorted from low to high or high to low; for Users I would like the ability to group by name, etc.  Am I missing something that this isn't available?

Indeed. There are lots of frustrating inconsistencies in the UI like this. In some places you will find columns you can sort by, in others you won't.
In some areas if you search for then enter an object, then go back to the results list you'll find your search criteria is stored. In others, when you go back to the list it is cleared.
In some areas you can't even search at all (e.g. Data Tables list).

It definitely feels like lots of disparate sections bolted together rather than one unified platform.

The fact that you can filter and sort is insane to me and I agree @James Dunn that this feels like a bunch of individual pieces being put together.  If you go look at the ideas board and search for sort, you will see there are many ideas that have been submitted.  I think this is part of the problem.  You can see that people are requesting the ability to sort on specific screens.  Instead of Genesys looking at filtering and sorting as a platform feature, they apparently just work on specifically what is asked for which seems super inefficient if they are just going to have to do the same/similar work on the other screens as we continue to submit ideas (assuming they are actually making enhancements based on these ideas, which doesn't seem to always be the case).

    Amber,

I saw your idea https://genesyscloud.ideas.aha.io/ideas/PERF-I-25 and gave it an upvote.

Hello!  Rest assured we hear you.  Bringing enhanced sorting and filtering abilities is a top priority within our product team that we continually put focus on delivering.  The GenesysCloud data stack is based on a true micro service based Big Data architecture.  This positions it to scale well, keep costs down, and be centrally managed to give all our customers a consistent experience.  Big or small.  Big data engines are able to find specific pieces of data quickly in a sea of huge amounts of data.  However, one notable challenge they run into is being able to sort large spans of data.  A more traditional single tenant based offering can handle this out of the box without a significant engineering lift which is why you can commonly find this type of functionality offered by our partners.

This is not to say that sort and filtering isn't possible with our architecture.  We have roadmapped items in flight to bring enhanced options for realtime metrics and bring sortability into the metric performance views.  Sort options within the interactions view is receiving focus as well as we position the underlying infrastructure to offer additional sortable columns.  We have many other ideas and discussions in flight to add more of these capabilities.  Keep a close eye on our release notes and upcoming roadmaps as we continue to bring this functionality to the product.
