    Lettuce celebrate!

    We have winners for the "Summer Foods" Trivia Tower event and there is a breadstick twist. Dun...dun...duuuunnnn! We have two community members who are tied for 1st place and we for sure have a 3rd place winner who will receive 10,000 GCAP points from our friend, @Michael Garside

    But before we find out those details, let's go over the answers!

    1. How did the word "picnic" originate? Answer: In a satirical play about a glutton that eats too much during food shortages.
    2. Eating fresh fruit is popular in summer months. The Damson, Elephant Heart, and Mirabelle are varieties of which fruit? Answer: Plum.
    3. We all scream for ice cream! What did the "World's Tallest Ice Cream Cone" measure? Answer: 10 ft (3 meters).
    4. Doritos are found at so many summer gatherings, but where did they get their start? Answer: In a Disneyland restaurant.
    5. You can't have great summer food without spice. Which two spices are the most popular in the world? Answer: Pepper and mustard. (This one really tripped people up!)
    6. Time to hydrate! What percentage of water is actually in a watermelon? Answer: 92%. 
    7. Mojitos are a refreshing summer cocktail. Where was it invented? Answer: Cuba.
    8. The USA is known for grilling hotdogs and hamburgers. But what is Mongolia known for grilling? Answer: Khorkhog.
    9. According to the Guiness Book of World Records, what country held the longest line of barbecue? Answer: Philippines.
    10. The Bedouin tribespeople cook Zarb in an underground sand oven in what country? Answer: Jordan.
    11. Australia is known for "Sausage Sizzlers" (sausage barbecues). Which of the following is NOT a word they use for sausages. Answer: Skeet. (Nope, these weren't Dr. Seuss words!)
    12. What country serves up the tasty summer recipe of Sour Cream Cucumbers? Answer: Hungary.
    13. When is International/World Picnic Day? Answer: June 18th. 
    14. There would be no picnics without sandwiches. Who is the sandwich named after? Answer: John Montagu. 
    15. Luaus are a great summer experience. What is true about ancient luaus? Answer: The foods were always eaten with bare hands.
    16. Those were tough, it's time for a Mai Tai! What does Mai Tai actually mean in Tahitian? Answer: Out of this world.

    The highest score for this trivia event was 11/16, so we know there were some surprising answers on this quiz! With that being said, the two players who got the eleven correct and tied for 1st place were @Seean Weaver and @Gina Palmer! Congratulations! Now you two will move into a tie-breaker situation. Sean and Gina, I'll be sending you another timed Google form for you to fill out as many correct answers as possible in the time alloted. Whomever gets the most correct will snag 1st place and an item from the Prize Wall and the second place will get 10,000 GCAP points! Good luck to you both and be on the lookout in your emails for that form.

    After a suuuupppperrrr close timed Trivia tie-breaker, we have our 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place winners! It all came down to the Indianapolis Speedway seating capacity...the answer was 350,000!

    @Seean Weaver eeked out a closer guess and snagged 1st place with his guess of 257,000! You get an item off the Prize Wall and I'll send you a form to fill out with your selection. 

    @Gina Palmer clutched 2nd place and gets 20,000 GCAP points, which is an amazing prize and can be redeemed here (make sure you sign up to get your rewards!)

    @Tricia Berthet you won 10,000 GCAP points for your 3rd place win! You can redeem here, just make sure you're signed up to see the rewards.

    Thanks Joe! I got lucky with the Indy Motor Speedway question. BUT, it does help that we watch the race every year since my wife is from Indiana.
