    Posted 2 days ago

    Hi,

for our eval environment we are paying CX3 prices for each account ($155 per agent per month).

Q1 - is there some "developer environment" we can purchase which we can use as a playground without being charged $155 per agent per month? I am told that Genesys is discontinuing their "eval" program and I am not sure what to do.

Q2 - Can we get away with CX1 if we only use the basic voice , VaaS for dial in and dial out, and I use Genesys Cloud API for my development.  I really do not need the bots, transcription, WFM and so on.

How is everyone else going about their development environment?

    Hi Amit,

You could setup and use another organisation with a low concurrent license count as a playground, that way you are not paying per named user.

The roles that are in use should also show the license it needs, this way you can check whether any permissions you use need a higher license or not.

So, to be clear there is not some sort of eval / development environment for the partners?

There is a CX3 devlab available for partners. Please contact your partner manager for details.

thank you for that. So, instead of paying per named user, we would be charged CX1 price per concurrent connections?

With concurrent licenses you could have more users for less and if there are more developers that do not work the same hours/ days it might be a cheaper option.  In case if your peak concurrency is higher in a month you'll have to pay an overage and do note that those licenses are a bit more expensive.

But if you're a partner and there is an option for a  CX3 devlab for partners as mentioned by Antti (I was not aware) that might be the better option.
