  • 1.  Using a button on a Script to invoke a consult transfer with delayed digit entry

    Hello,

I am developing a call script for my call center that will pop when an agent answers a call from a queue.  In this script I would like to have a button that will:

    • Consult Transfer to a number
    • Delay a few seconds
    • Enter a number
    • Delay a few seconds
    • Enter another number

I am able to create an action to consult transfer without issue, however the delay entering of digits is a bit more difficult, it seems.  In systems I have used in the past, a string like +19018675309,,,,11111,,,,11 would have added a delay where the comma's are.  However when attempting this in Genesys Cloud it appears Genesys Cloud doesn't know how to handle these.

Is there another way to accomplish a delayed entering of digits based on the 1 button push?

    Hi Joe,

Hope all is going well!  According to this Add support for pauses and extensions in | Genesys Cloud Ideas Portal (aha.io), Genesys will not implement this.  You can try to vote and comment on it but it has been discussed many times.  I guess you could do this with a conference transfer to the number and then a secure flow that dials the numbers by sending prompts for each digit you need to send using wave files for the DTMF.  Ugly, but I did do this for another customer once.

    Thanks Robert!

Things are going well here, hope the same for you.

I voted and commented on this idea, hopefully we can rejevenate conversation on it.  In the mean time, I will look into your recommendation of using the secure flow to dial the digits, thanks again!
