According to the Genesys Cloud help center, Web Messaging supports the big four desktop browsers (i.e., Microsoft Edge Chromium, Google Chrome, Firefox and Safari) and the big two mobile browsers (i.e., Google Chrome on Android and Safari on iOS). However, only the current release (and depending on specific browser) one version previous is supported.
However, this leads to a question.. what happens when someone isn't on the latest 2 versions?
One other question.. what counts as a version? Is it fair to assume major releases?

Hello 👋 Indeed, we are actively testing the last two releases of most browsers as you noticed: this means that we would promptly detect and fix issues with last two versions. If end-user is not running on last 2 versions, typically everything still works, because more recent browser versions are usually adding incremental features and rarely make breaking changes. If something does break with older browser versions, we would have to assess root cause and evaluate severity and effort to eventually fix. So far, over the past couple of years, this never happened.
To find latest versions for all browsers, the most convenient tool is browserslist: for example, you can use command like following:
npx browserslist "last 2 chrome versions"
You would get back the actual two major versions supported as of today:
chrome 99
chrome 98
