A while ago, I asked some of my friends for YouTube video/channel recommendations. Here is the video that I shared to start the discussion:

In return, I got some really interesting videos, but this was the most interesting. I mean aren't we all curious what happens when a baseball breaks the sound barrier?:

Smarter Every Day is a great channel, from them and another I learned this month that Fireflies will synchronize their flashing across an entire forest.

I was also reading about this! The article that I read was talking about the AI being sentient (able to feel things). This was because the AI said, "I feel lonely" and some other eye-catching expressions. Those expressions are what caused one of the main experts that leaked the information to do so. Now, they are saying that the AI Bot borrowed that language from chat transcripts. So, hard to say what's true, but it's interesting nonetheless.

I remember way before this instance, there was a similar circumstance with Tay, who was also a victim of picking up bad habits online.

As a brand-spanking new Genesys Product Counsel -- Multicloud, I learned there is so much to learn to understand Genesys Multicloud.  I also learned that a good source for the glossary of terms/acronyms I am developing is the Trivia Tower community!!  The quiz I just took is a prime example!  Glad I know what WFM is!!

I learned that the number one reason my clients' agents leave for another job is because they aren't given the learning and tools to do their job effectively and correctly.

I learned that there's a new supercomputer so fast it has successfully run an artificial intelligence model as sophisticated as a human brain. Scientist trained the AI model with 174 trillion parameters, rivalling the number of synapses in the brain for the first time.

On a family vacation in June to Mount Rushmore, we learned Mount Rushmore is actually unfinished, in that each president was meant to also have a carved body. Gutzon Borglum (sculptor) died in March 1941, before the project was completed, and his son Lincoln took over the project. Though the original vision for the sculpture was never fully implemented, in October 1941 it was declared complete and funding was cut off, so only the head of each president was carved.  Funding was cut off due to the United States entering into World War II.

That's really funny. Did the carvers get lazy? I can see getting those faces done and being like..."Good enough!"

Oh wow!  I am a new Genesys employee, so I feel like I've been in almost complete learning mode!  I've been learning about the Genesys culture, products and strategy.  I also have been focused on learning the nuances of how to perform my role, tools to use, and processes to follow.  I've also been spending time getting to know different folks around the organization by introducing myself and asking them questions about themselves and their roles.  I have loved how learning oriented the organization is and how much is available on GenEd to learn about each of the products at Genesys.  On tap for me in the coming weeks is to watch replays of recent AEMs and other recordings like those from Xperience to continue to help me get to know Genesys and how we approach supporting our incredible employees to perform at their best!

I've been trying to learn how to create simple animations with the Adobe Creative Suite products. It's not necessarily my wheelhouse, but it's fun to figure it out!

Wow, these are some really interesting "What I learned" posts, especially the AI stuff. Speaking of which, I learned of a program that you can be a beta for called DALL-E, which is a new AI system that can create realistic images and art from a description you write in natural language. Check out some of the images the program made based on what people typed in here!
