  • 1.  WFM812 - WFM Server - Memory

    Posted 07-16-2014 08:51
    hi,

    WFM812 - running x64 on W2K8R2.  RAM 16GB

Virtual Memory Levels from Perf Stats.

Recently out wfm server used only for reporting requests jumped from around 10-11 GB to over 14GB for a period.

    Couple of questions

Given the architecture/setup above would this cause any issues or would memory start to the paged out as could clash with 2GB needed (I think) by the OS or is the head room higher than I think ?

Would the memory reduce to lower levels ?
After several days it is still around the 13.9 GB level, so the "head room" may or may not be impacted or this could just be an indication of how high it has reached not the real levels in usage ?
I recall the private bytes being a better indication (from memory of actual usage)

Would appreciated some advice on this area

    Thanks Sue

    thanks

There is not enough information to provide any suggestions.  We recommend you open a case with Support and we will investigate further.

OK - SR was raised and the jump in memory was due to a very large report being run and the cause an internal server error.  The thread was left associated with the memory as part of this failure.
WFM Server was restarted to release the memory.
