Hi Andrew,
Just adding to this for anyone referencing it later Enhanced TTS itself is still included at no additional charge when used within Architect bot and voice survey flows, while usage in standard inbound call flows is chargeable.
However, there are upcoming changes to be aware of. From 5 August 2026, Genesys is ending native support for Google and Microsoft Azure TTS voices. After this date, those voices will need to be used via the BYOT-A model, which introduces separate billing, while AWS Polly remains the native option.
So it's less about Enhanced TTS becoming chargeable, and more about which voice providers are supported natively vs via BYOT going forward.

Hope this helps!

Subject: Enhanced TTS question
Hello all.
I am handling a project that includes a Voicebot, which I understand requires Enhanced TTS. I further understand this is "free" as it is included as part of the Voicebot requirements. This customer wishes to use Enhanced TTS for Inbound as well, and understand that will incur a usage charge. My question is how will this be handled behind the scenes so they are only charged for the Enhanced TTS usage that should be charged vs. the Voicebot usage that is included? And do they simply make the purchase in AppFoundry or is there also some additional information they need to include to confirm the Voicebot will not be charged usage fees?
Thanks!
Andy
