In a scenario where an inbound voice interaction is routed to an AudioConnector WebSocket for real-time audio streaming, does the IVR port/channel remain allocated for the duration of the interaction, or is it released after the streaming session has been established?

    Hi,

Based on the available search results, I cannot provide a definitive answer to your specific question about the AudioConnector WebSocket and IVR port allocation.

The search results offer high-level overviews of Genesys Cloud architecture and troubleshooting but do not detail the precise lifecycle of IVR ports or channels during a WebSocket streaming session. They cover other areas, such as general troubleshooting for SIP and RTP issues, IVR design using Data Tables, and high-level architectural layers, but none address the specific resource allocation scenario you described.

To find the exact answer, please consult the official Genesys Cloud developer documentation, particularly the sections on Architect flows, AudioConnector WebSocket API, and Media Services.

    Hi Marcelo,

Adding one point to what Camila already posted-I found the following in the documentation:

"The bi-directional streaming session is active only in the IVR channel. It does not transfer to an agent."

The documentation also states that the Call Audio Connector action pauses Architect flow execution until the bi-directional streaming session ends. While it doesn't explicitly answer the IVR port/resource allocation question, it does indicate that the interaction remains in the IVR channel throughout the streaming session.

    Hope this helps.

After conducting some preliminary research, reviewing the responses in this thread, and speaking with a few people, I came to the conclusion that the voice channel remains allocated for the entire AI interaction when using Genesys Cloud Audio Connector.
Audio Connector provides a WebSocket-based audio stream between Genesys Cloud and the AI platform, but it does not transfer ownership of the call or release the underlying voice resources.
As a result, the interaction continues to consume voice capacity within Genesys Cloud for as long as the call is active.
Thank you all for the responses!
