August Question of the Month: What's one thing you thought was true as a kid that turned out to be completely false?

Let's have some fun reminiscing for the August Question of the Month. I have a feeling this question might bring up a lot of laughs!

What's one thing you thought was true as a kid that turned out to be completely false?

I'll go first - I thought that if you got rained on, you'd get a cold. I heard that from so many grown-ups as a kid, "You're gonna get sick if you don't dry your hair!" Thanks to the internet, I learned that's just an old wives tale!

Now it's your turn to answer. If you do, you'll get a cool new badge to sport on your profile!

As a kid, I thought quicksand would be a much bigger problem in my life. Turns out it was never an issue at all.😅

Hahaha!!! SO many movies showed us that quicksand was an issue to worry about! Too funny.

As a kid in Brazil, I believed that leaving a flip-flop upside down could make my mom die. I still turn it over just in case hahaha.

When I was a kid, everyone used to say that if you swallowed chewing gum, it would glue your intestines together.

I accidentally swallowed a piece once, and I cried for hours because I was convinced I was going to die. 😂😂

Eating carrots were supposed to be good for your eyesight - i've needed glasses for years :-)

Yep! 😂😂 And to make it even better, whenever they told us carrots were good for our eyesight, they'd say, "Have you ever seen a rabbit wearing glasses?" 🤣

When I was a kid, I thought that if I trained too much at the gym, I would eventually become huge, like professional bodybuilders. Because of that, my goal was actually to avoid training too much so I wouldn't get "too big." Later, I realized that building that much muscle requires years of intense training, strict nutrition, and a lot of dedication.😅

I used to think the moon was following our car wherever we went. It seemed so real when I was a kid! 🌙😄

I honestly believed that if I turned on the car's interior light at night, the police would stop us immediately. My parents had me convinced! 😂

As an Indian kid, I genuinely believed that if I stepped over someone's legs, they would stop growing unless I stepped back over them. 😄
