    Summary

    Effective September 1, 2026, the namespace field will be removed from the WhatsApp Messaging Template create and update APIs.

    The namespace field is no longer required or used by the WhatsApp Business API (Meta) and will no longer be accepted in request payloads or returned in API responses.

    Tuesday, September 1, 2026

    Details

    Meta no longer requires or uses the namespace field when creating or updating WhatsApp messaging templates. To align with the current WhatsApp Business API, the namespace field is being removed from the Response Management APIs.

    Customer Impact

    Customers will no longer be able to include the namespace field when creating or updating WhatsApp messaging templates.

    Customers should update their integrations, applications, and automation to:

    • Remove the namespace field from request payloads sent to the affected APIs.
    • Remove any logic that expects the namespace field to be returned in API responses.

    Making these changes before the effective date will ensure continued compatibility after the field is removed.
