Any Formula 1 fans out there?

The new season is about to start and maybe this is Ferrari's year? It would be great to see cars with the Genesys logo on be championship winners!

Honestly, I don't know what to think.

Formula 1 used to be seen as about power, engine, speed, etc.

It's undergoing a big change; now the cars need to be hybrid (50% electric / 50% combustion). I'm not a fan of electric cars, maybe my vision is being clouded by that, but I'll wait and see what happens haha.

Speaking of Ferrari, we have Lewis Hamilton, one of the favorites for the award, BUT, I think Mercedes is stronger with Kimi Antonelli.

After watching the grand prix of this weekend in Australia, the race was more interesting than before.  The way that the drivers are using the new technology (50/50) is new and will require them to evaluate when and how to use the energy stored in the battery.  Definitively more interesting.

Looking forward for the next one in China.

The first 10 laps were crazy and very unpredictable. I imagine as the season goes on the drivers & teams will learn a lot more about how to use the battery in different situations and things will eventually calm down but for now it looks exciting!

Sadly it seems to be going very much down the technical side - and ways to exploit interpretations of the rules.   Each year they change t to restrict what can be done - and the manufacturers then come up with new ways!

No longer the full on pure driver skill and nerves.....

Formula 1 has always been a team sport and the team building the best car is part of that. Of course the cars are now so advanced it's sometimes difficult to see the difference the driver makes but it's still there to see if you look. The top drivers like Hamilton, Verstappen, Leclerc, Alonso etc are always showing their talent even if it is just in comparison to their teammate.

I am really looking forward to see how the new rear wing will behave at the next grand prix in China.  It seems that Ferrari is going to use their rotating rear wing.  It may introduce some controversial discussions from the other teams.

Yes I'm looking forward to that. I don't think it's going to be a game changer in respect to performance but every little helps!
