    Today is Earth Day and in honor of our global mother earth, I wanted to ask you:

    I try to do small things consistently to reduce my impact. I separate my recycling, avoid single-use plastics when possible, and always carry a reusable water bottle. I also try to save energy by turning off lights and unplugging devices when I'm not using them.

    I recycle, make sure my kids and husband don't leave lights on around the house, we installed solar panels, I try to go around the neighborhood regularly with a big home depot bucket and one of those grabber-arms and pick up trash.

    I'm going green by turning off lights in empty rooms. My kids apparently think we're running a theme park called Electricity Land.

    I've also embraced sustainability by running a full‑time lost‑sock rescue program. The planet may not notice, but my washing basket does. :)

    I try to recycle and upcycle anything that I can. I also have solar panels on my house, and plant lots of pollinators around my yard and garden. During the day, I try to turn off any lights or other electronics that aren't needed to reduce electricity usage.

    1. Recycling is one of the "easiest" initiatives we can participate during our dayto-day activities at home. Is not very common in my city as most people don't want to pay extra for the especial trash collection. 

    2. Avoid using single-use plastics when possible - at the office I have  my own coffee mug; I do bring my own water bottle everywhere 

    3. Savings with AC / lamps - little relief in my power bill

    I should answer too! I live in a coastal area so we are involved in beach cleanups once a month and also part of the "Plastic Oceans Project" which helps spread awareness of keeping trash out of our waters.

    I try to focus on small, consistent actions that add up over time - reducing single-use plastics, being mindful of energy consumption, and making more sustainable choices where possible. Back home in Mauritius, sustainability is very much part of daily life in my village - we use our own water sources and collect rainwater for irrigation, and natural resources are reused in multiple ways. For example, coconut is used beyond food - the husk can be used as a brush for scrubbing, and dried materials are used for things like lighting fires for cooking.

    It's a reminder that simple, resourceful practices can have a real impact 🌍

    We are pretty green here. Recycling, re-usable grocery bags, buying recycled/sustainable products, low to no mow, pollinator gardening, vegetable gardening, walking vs driving whenever possible, turning off lights, minimizing use of air conditioning, reusing & upcycling, shopping local, composting.

    • Reduce printing as much as possible and keep things digital
    • Be mindful of energy usage (switching off devices when not in use)

    On a daily basis I try to do small things that can make a difference. At home, I separate my trash into organic and recyclable waste.

    For recyclables, I place everything together (paper, plastic, aluminum, etc.), which makes it easier to send it to recycling.

    I'm also very careful with batteries and electronic devices, those should never go into regular trash. Instead, I take them to a nearby supermarket that has a proper collection point for safe disposal.

    They may seem like small actions, but if more people do the same, the impact can be huge.

    I also started ordering nonperishables in bulk to be delivered.  At first I would think, "why can't you just go to the store".  But then I thought, if one truck goes around and delivers things to the entire neighborhood at once (6 mo worth of soap, toilet paper, etc), wouldn't that use less energy than each of us driving to the store every couple weeks?

    With 2 young kids, i'm forever going round switching off lights, chargers, closing doors.

    Beyond the usual recycling waste at home (What bin does this go in Dad? is a regular question), when the kids have grown out of their brand new clothes(!) we actively pass these to others to re-use and to local charity/goodwill shops, can never bear to throw out perfectly good stuff!

    Avoiding the use of plastics and choosing eco-friendly alternatives helps protect the environment.

    Walking daily for short distances, whenever possible, not only reduces pollution but also promotes a healthier lifestyle.

    We do a lot of simple water savings.  

    Rain barrels under the gutters to water the garden, or wash things outside.  A pitcher under the tap, so when you use the sprayer it catches the extra, we use that to fill the pets water bowls.  Planning garden watering for when the least water would evaporate.  Things like that.

    I try to do my bit in small everyday ways - using more eco-friendly products at home, switching off lights, and reusing simple things instead of wasting them.     Hi, Nicole! Great question.

    Honestly, the biggest thing for me is being intentional about energy at home. I keep the thermostat conservative, unplug devices that are not in use, and switched to LED bulbs a while back. I also try to be really deliberate about single-use plastics and keep a reusable bottle and bags with me pretty much everywhere.

    The one I am most proud of is meal planning. Food waste is a massive contributor to emissions, and just planning out my week cuts down significantly on what ends up in the trash. Small habit, but it adds up over a whole year.

    Living on 10 acres in Temecula has made us very conscious of sustainability and waste reduction. We create mulch from our tree and branch trimmings, avoid using plastic garbage bags, and do not purchase bottled water to reduce plastic waste and help the environment.

    I once lived in a place where I helped to order recyclables collectors. In addition to helping nature, this resulted in resources for community improvements.
