How did you spend your Easter weekend

  • 1.  How did you spend your Easter weekend

    Posted 20 days ago

Hope everyone had a really lovely break! 🐰🐣

Whether it was full of family time, catching up with friends or just a chance to slow down a bit - hopefully there was at least some chocolate involved 😄

We kept things nice and simple this year - spent time with the kids painting eggs  (a bit messy, but worth it!) and then rounded it off with a cosy family movie night watching Zootropolis 2, which went down really well in our house.

It got me thinking how everyone has their own little traditions…

What did you get up to over Easter?
Did you stick to traditions, try something new or just enjoy a well-earned rest?

And I'm always open to recommendations - especially any good family films we should add to the list for next time

Would love to hear what everyone else got up to - drop yours below 👇

We were able to get outside and enjoy the beautiful weather....a couple hikes with the dog and an evening stroll along the river.

I spent Easter visiting my family, which was honestly a great kind of reset. A mix of grandma's food, catching up, and just slowing down a bit (with some chocolate involved, of course 😄).

Love the egg painting idea. Haven't done it this year, but might have to steal that for next year! And a cosy movie night sounds like the perfect way to wrap it all up.

That honestly sounds like the ideal reset - grandma's (or as we Scottish say Granny's) food always hits differently! Definitely recommend the egg painting… messy but fun!

I have a 4-year-old son, so the "Easter bunny" came to my house and left footprints.

I didn't expect my son to ask: if the door is over there, why did he come from here where there's no door haha.

We went to church in the morning, then we went to the countryside for lunch and had lots of chocolate at home.

That is absolutely brilliant 😂 kids ask the best (and hardest) questions. Sounds like a really lovely day though - especially the countryside lunch!

I finally made a lamb cake!  Every year I want to make one and never think about it until it is too late to get a pan.  This year, I bought the pan in January so I would be ready.

That turned out really well! 👏 Definitely worth the early planning - looks almost too good to eat. Did it taste as good as it looks?

@Josh Coyle  - It was really good.  I've bought lamb cakes before and they have always been dry but the recipe I had worked out great.  Not dry at all.  And at a  much better price that the $18.00 they wanted at the store.

I spent my easter working on my car.  Changed the brake rotors and pads.  Aside from that just had a chill day.

Over here in Aus the price of Easter eggs were astronomical, not sure if that was the same elsewhere in the world, but I think most people held out till after the weekend to get them on clearance.  It was nearly $20 for a chocolate bunny 😬

Productive Easter! Changing brake pads is no small job.
Wow $20 for a chocolate bunny?! 😬 That's wild - I don't blame people for waiting for the post-Easter sales!

I had a quieter Easter this time, and honestly I really enjoyed that.

It was a good opportunity to slow down a bit, recharge, and just enjoy a more peaceful moment. I did not do anything too different or adventurous, but sometimes that is exactly what we need.

And yes, there was definitely some chocolate involved, so Easter was properly celebrated.

Painting eggs with the kids sounds like a lot of fun, and messy moments like that usually become the best memories.

That sounds like a perfect Easter to be honest, sometimes the quieter ones are exactly what you need to recharge.
And completely agree - those messy moments usually end up being the ones you remember most!

I had a really relaxing break, spent some quality time with the kids and also went on a rainforest walk, which was lovely. It was nice to slow down for a bit, but it's good to be back at work now too 😄

Lots of family time, DIY, Gardening, and trying to tucker out the little ones.

Our 3 year old got her first visit from the Easter bunny this year. Her mind was blown that a bunny can get into our house to deliver a chocolate egg, AND leave a trail around the house so she can find the golden chocolate bunny!

That sounds like a full and fun Easter - gardening, DIY and entertaining the little ones is no small task!

Love the Easter bunny story though - those first experiences are the best! Did she manage to find the golden bunny in the end?
