    For me, I have a kind of automatic habit I end up pressing a mechanical keyboard loose switch or any small object I have nearby. It might sound simple, but it really helps me shift my focus away from anxiety in the moment.
     
    What about you guys what actually works for you?

    For me, it's a mix of small resets, even something like stepping away for a quick coffee break helps clear my head and reset a bit.

    I also try to:

    • Take a short walk or step away for a few minutes
    • Focus on breathing to slow things down
    • Switch to a small task to regain focus

    Nothing too complex, just simple habits that help in the moment.

    I try to treat anxiety as something to understand rather than fight. What helps me most is having a few simple habits that bring me back to the present-like focusing on my breathing, taking short breaks, or going for a walk to clear my head.

    I also try to stay aware of what's within my control and what isn't. When things feel overwhelming, I break them down into smaller, manageable steps instead of trying to solve everything at once.

    Consistency matters too. Getting enough rest, keeping a routine, and setting boundaries (especially with work or digital overload) make a big difference in staying centered day to day.

    And I've learned that it's okay not to have everything perfectly under control-sometimes just acknowledging how I'm feeling already helps me regain balance.

    Eu tento manter uma rotina simples e focar no que tá no meu controle. Quando a ansiedade vem, dou uma desacelerada, respiro, me organizo e volto pro que preciso fazer. Nada perfeito, mas funciona pra manter a mente no lugar.

    For me, it's actually easier to get away and re-focus at work than it is at home. At work I can take a walk pretty much as needed and get away from my desk for 5-10  minutes. 

    At home, with 6 kids, the first chance I have to really sit and breathe is between about 11pm and 4am. Not exactly ideal sadly.

    Hello, @João Silva

    Anxiety is a result of our routine. We want to take control of everything, but in the end, we couldn't. 

    When the anxiety gets high, I try to completely change my focus for a few minutes. Reading some pages of a book or just stepping away from my computer and walking, listening to a podcast, helps me a lot.

    That's a great approach. I like how you separate what you can control from what you can't  it really helps reduce unnecessary stress. Prioritizing tasks also makes everything feel more manageable and keeps things moving forward.

    Hi João,

    One thing that helps me stay more centered is having both a weekly and a daily plan.

    At the beginning of the week, I try to map the main priorities, deadlines, meetings, and activities that need my attention. Then, each day, I break those activities into smaller blocks in a planner, so I can see what needs to be done in each part of the day.

    This helps me reduce the feeling that everything is urgent at the same time. Instead of trying to keep everything in my head, I can look at the plan and focus on the next activity or block.

    At the end of the day, I also like to do a quick check: what I completed, what needs to be moved, what is still pending, and what should be prioritized the next day.

    It does not make the day perfect, but it helps me feel more organized, less anxious, and more aware of what is actually possible to do.

    I deal with anxiety by trying to slow things down instead of reacting immediately. When I feel overwhelmed, I take a few deep breaths, step away for a moment, and focus on what I can actually control.
     
    To stay more grounded day to day, I like to keep a simple routine: get enough sleep, move my body, write down what's stressing me out, and break big tasks into smaller steps. Talking to someone I trust also helps, because it makes the anxiety feel less heavy.
     
    I think the most important thing is reminding myself that anxious thoughts aren't always facts. They can feel intense, but they usually pass if I give myself time and space to calm down.

    @Elisson Fernandes, it's really good to read this. The idea of ​​slowing down before reacting sounds simple, but it can make a big difference in everyday life.

     
    And remembering that not every thought is a fact helps a lot, because in the moment everything can feel very heavy, but when we give ourselves some time, we realize it's not always like that.
