How long have you worked with Genesys?

    There's clearly a huge and varied experience here in the Genesys communities - I'm curious how long folk have worked with Genesys?

    My first Genesys project was in 1998, on Genesys 3.1 (before it was 'Engage'). That was way back in the day when Genesys was installed from a boat load of CDs! That feels almost steam-powered compared to the current Cloud solutions 😎 I've been involved in Genesys projects pretty much ever since, and spent the last 5 or so years selling Genesys Cloud solutions to my customers.

    It has been more than 25 years for me as well! I started my Genesys journey with Genesys Engage 5.1 and have been working with Genesys ever since.

    Hi Paul,

    I started working with Genesys Cloud around 2022, so I'm one of the newer members of the community compared to many here. In that time, I've had the opportunity to work on a wide range of projects including digital self-service, knowledge management, workflow automation, Agent Copilot, integrations, Architect flows, and custom Genesys Functions. It's been a fantastic platform to learn, and I'm still discovering new capabilities every week. Looking forward to many more years in the Genesys ecosystem!

    Genesys Cloud is enabling capabilities that were only a dream on previous Genesys Engage or older platforms. It really is an exciting time to be working with this platform!

    Hi Paul,

    I started working with Genesys in 2007, when I was installing LED wallboards in contact centers using many different platforms.

    So, I've now been working with Genesys for almost 20 years. Over time, I gradually left the others solutions behind to focus on just one-the best one: Genesys 😉

    Started on Genesys Cloud in 2019 and been on both customer and vendor side of this, which I think gives a unique experience, but I've been in telecoms since 1997... that feels like a very long time ago 😂

    I've been working with Genesys since 2018. For the first several years, I worked exclusively with Genesys Engage. In 2025, I migrated to Genesys Cloud, and since then I've been focused on implementing and supporting Genesys Cloud solutions.

    It's amazing to see the evolution - Engage in its time was impressive, and when Cloud first appeared it felt like a lower-end alternative; now Cloud is head and shoulders above what Engage was!

    Hi Paul,

    I've been working "with" Genesys off and on since around 2006. I say with as this was mostly the PBX side integrating with T-Servers. I've been working with what was PureCloud since 2016.

    Along with others it's pretty amazing having weekly releases and anyone who has only been with the platform for a couple of years I invite you to look at one of the original community videos where you can see the blue menu and a tiny amount of reports. At the early stages there were no digital flows, everything except voice just hit a queue.

    I compare this to other vendors that have a legacy and many platforms have not changed significantly in that decade.

    Ah, I do get a warm, nostalgic glow when I think about debugging with TServer logs (not that upstart SIP Server, but proper, vendor specific TServers! 🤣)

    I am quite new to Genesys. Maybe 6-12 months now. I just completed my first 2 projects, moving two customers from an on-prem solution to the Genesys Cloud CX. It's been very interesting and really a lot of fun. I'm enjoying the platform so far.

    My first experience with Genesys was in 2000, working with Genesys T-Server 5.1. Since then, I have spent 26 years as a Professional Services Consultant, helping organizations successfully implement and optimize Genesys solutions.

    For many of those years, I participated in a retainer program, delivering Professional Services on behalf of Genesys while employed by another organization. Following my second reduction in force at Verizon, I joined Genesys directly in 2021.

    I recently discovered that both my Principal and our Human Resources team were unaware of the length of my history supporting Genesys. It has been a rewarding journey, and I am pleased to have the opportunity to share my experiences and perspective with a broader audience.

    I've been working with Genesys for 4 years now. Prior to that I had different roles in my company and worked with the front end of Avaya. Getting to see the behind the scenes gave me a completely new appreciation for things that always seemed like they should be so easy.

    I was hired by Interactive Intelligence in March, 1999. Been with this company ever since.

    My first exposure to the Genesys platform was at a conference in 2000 where I visited the Genesys booth and had some discussion comparing our platforms.

    Yes. I was the Platform Manager when PureConnect (nee Interaction Center) went from 2.3.1 to 2.4...many moons ago.

    I was in Education when Genesys bought InIn. I got some good exposure to Engage when I was building classes for it. Even went onsite with PayPal to build custom eLearning for them for WFM.

    My first job after university was with Genesys (Saint John, New Brunswick, Canada) in August 2005. I started with Tech Support (I supported pretty much all the products we had back then : Framework, T-Server later SIP Server, CCPulse, CCAnalyzer, Multichannel, etc....and specialized later on Infomart). I worked for a number of years as a contractor for many companies around the world integrating and supporting customers (France, South Africa, USA, Canada). Nowadays I specialize in supporting the migration from Genesys Engage to Genesys Cloud reporting (A3S) or even new deployment that require customization.     My journey with Genesys began in 2019, when my previous employer switched to using Genesys company-wide. Then, in 2023, I was hired as an employee at Genesys, specializing in WEM implementation.

    Great question! My contact center journey actually started before I worked with Genesys.

    I began my first contact center project in 2000 in China, working with a Huawei PSTN PBX ACD platform. Those were the days when most solutions were entirely on-premises, and the focus was heavily on voice routing and traditional call center operations.

    In 2006, I started working with Genesys PureEngage, primarily on reporting solutions for a major telecommunications carrier in Canada. That experience gave me a deep appreciation for the power and flexibility of the Genesys platform, especially in large enterprise environments.

    Then, in 2020, I had the opportunity to participate in a transformation project that migrated a contact center from Genesys Connect to Genesys Cloud. It was fascinating to see how much the industry had evolved from on-premises infrastructure to cloud-native customer experience platforms.

    About a year later, I fully transitioned my focus to Genesys Cloud, and that's where I've been ever since. Looking back, it's been an incredible journey from traditional PBX/ACD systems to modern AI-powered cloud experiences.

    It's always amazing to hear how long people have been in the Genesys ecosystem. From installation CDs and on-prem servers to cloud deployments and AI, we've certainly witnessed quite an evolution! 😊
