Genesys Casual

There's clearly a huge and varied experience here in the Genesys communities - I'm curious how long folk have worked with Genesys?

My first Genesys project was in 1998, on Genesys 3.1 (before it was 'Engage'). That was way back in the day when Genesys was installed from a boat load of CDs! That feels almost steam-powered compared to the current Cloud solutions 😎 I've been involved in Genesys projects pretty much ever since, and spent the last 5 or so years selling Genesys Cloud solutions to my customers.

It's amazing to see the evolution - Engage in its time was impressive, and when Cloud first appeared it felt like a lower-end alternative; now Cloud is head and shoulders above what Engage was!

I've been working "with" Genesys off and on since around 2006. I say with as this was mostly the PBX side integrating with T-Servers. I've been working with what was PureCloud since 2016.

Along with others it's pretty amazing having weekly releases and anyone who has only been with the platform for a couple of years I invite you to look at one of the original community videos where you can see the blue menu and a tiny amount of reports. At the early stages there were no digital flows, everything except voice just hit a queue.

I compare this to other vendors that have a legacy and many platforms have not changed significantly in that decade.

For many of those years, I participated in a retainer program, delivering Professional Services on behalf of Genesys while employed by another organization. Following my second reduction in force at Verizon, I joined Genesys directly in 2021.

I recently discovered that both my Principal and our Human Resources team were unaware of the length of my history supporting Genesys. It has been a rewarding journey, and I am pleased to have the opportunity to share my experiences and perspective with a broader audience.

Yes. I was the Platform Manager when PureConnect (nee Interaction Center) went from 2.3.1 to 2.4...many moons ago.

I was in Education when Genesys bought InIn. I got some good exposure to Engage when I was building classes for it. Even went onsite with PayPal to build custom eLearning for them for WFM.
