How do you, as introverts or extroverts, feel that remote work has changed the way you work and communicate with each other?

As introvert, working remotely requires a lot more conscious effort and planning to communicate and connect with my colleagues. Having recurring casual meetings, for example, helps a lot to stay connected in non-work contexts. Being physically together, you take for granted the casual conversations that occur when you bump into each other in the hall, or spontaneous conversations in the desk area.

I completely agree. Working remotely definitely requires more intentional effort to stay connected. You don't get those spontaneous conversations anymore, so I think  sometimes you have to make a conscious effort to reach out, even for a quick chat.

I think its important to find new ways to stay connected, communicate clearly, and make sure our messages aren't misunderstood.

I can relate to this. I'm more of an introvert around people I don't know well but I can be quite extroverted once I feel comfortable with someone. With remote work, I sometimes find it harder to build that initial connection but once I know the people I'm working with, I really enjoy the interaction.

I think I'm somewhere in between. 😊

When I'm building or working on something technical, I really enjoy having quiet remote days where I can focus without too many interruptions.

At the same time, I also enjoy being in the office, catching up with the team, collaborating and having those spontaneous conversations that are harder to replicate remotely.

For me, a hybrid approach gives the best of both worlds quiet time when I need to focus and face-to-face interaction when collaboration is more valuable. 😊

I think hybrid work gives you a nice balance between the two, having quiet time to focus when needed, while still having the opportunity to work together in person when it comes to brainstorming or collaboration.

Honestly even I'm not totally sure whether I'm an introvert or an extrovert, it really depends on the situation, the environment, and who I'm around. I kind of flip back and forth. So because of that, remote work honestly hasn't really changed the way I work or communicate all that much. I just kind of adapted to it and kept right on going.

That makes sense. I think a lot of us probably fall somewhere in the middle rather than being completely introverted or extroverted. Our environment and the people around us can really change how we communicate.

In remote, I don`t have to dress up and spend time commuting. However I sometimes miss the causal interactions with colleagues  that happen naturally in an office especially during lunch hours. I just think we need to find a balance, depends on person to person, situation to situation.

As someone who's somewhere in the middle: sleep directly affects my mood. So, since I work remotely, I don't have to wake up as early to commute to work, and that helps me a lot 😅

I would say I'm more introverted. I can deal with people, but not for long periods of time, and I get frustrated easily when dealing with some. Remote work for me is amazing; I have peace and don't have to call people out for bad home training.
