Hi,
I am having trouble with understanding the concept of LineID when creating a new phone.
I already read this discussion and still a bit unclear.
According to the description:
To create a new phone, build a phone object that contains the following objects:
- Phone base settings * Site * Line
So, in my case, our agents are using WebRTC. In the Genesys pages it says: "New phones create one line by default." . Yet, when we create a new WebRTC phone for an agent via API, we need to specify LineID. But, I cannot find a way to create it. What am I missing?
If Agent is going to be using WebRTC phone, do we even need to create a new phone for each agent or can all of them use the same one?
And if we create a new agent, I am a bit unclear as to why we need to create a new LineID.
Can someone please explain the basics of Line and how it related to WebRTc phones and how to create a new line when you make a new phone. The last part just does not sound right. I assume a line is like a trunk, so we just need to assign one of the existing lineID to a phone, but even then, is it 1:1 or 1 line to many webrtc phones...
Completely and utterly confused.
