    I'm building a collection of ice breakers that can be used in workshops, discovery sessions, executive presentations, and customer meetings.

    I'm especially interested in activities that work well with:

    • PowerPoint presentations

    • Lucid (Lucidspark/Lucidchart)

    • External audiences (customers and prospects)

    • Both virtual and in-person sessions

    What is your favorite ice breaker that consistently gets clients engaged and talking?

    Please share:

    1. The name of the activity

    2. How it works

    3. When you use it (executives, workshops, discovery, training, etc.)

    4. Whether it's best for PPT, Lucid, or another tool

    One ice breaker I've used successfully with clients is "How would you rate your customer experience today?"

    At the start of the session, I ask participants to place a sticky note (Lucid) or vote on a slide (PPT) on a scale from 1–10.

    Then I ask two follow-up questions:

    1. Why did you choose that score?
    2. What would need to happen for it to increase by one point?

    It typically takes 5–10 minutes and serves multiple purposes:

    • Gets everyone participating immediately
    • Surfaces different perspectives across stakeholders
    • Creates discussion around business priorities
    • Provides useful context for the rest of the workshop

    I use it mostly in discovery workshops, strategy sessions, and CX transformation discussions with executives and operational teams.

    Tool: Lucidspark (preferred), but it also works well with PowerPoint and Teams polls.
